2021 Notes From Artists Dennis Eavenson And Sharon Eavenson On Our Fluid Motion Op Series
The optical aspects of color theory have always been an area of artistic concern for both of us. These Op artworks open a
dialogue with our audience to consider the interplay of visual dynamics occuring from juxtaposing intense fluid color fields
with distinctly figurative flat shapes. The optical effects generated by the saturated hues of drippy liquid paint creates a strong
need for the viewers eyes to migrate toward the playful semi-opaque shape forms. There is an inherent human connection
seen in the floating abstracted shapes. They reveal a sense of action and repose.
