2021 Notes From Artists Dennis Eavenson And Sharon Eavenson On The Fluid Motion Artworks
The movement of water around our planet earth shapes our existence and creates a diverse spectrum of environments to
explore. Fascination with the flow of water and other fluid states of matter in the universe begins at birth. Like most couples,
we share our childhood experiences reviving the happy family moments spent visiting rivers, lakes and oceans for leisure
activities. We marveled at the flowing rivers and torrential rainfalls of a summer storm. Our own developmental existence
mirrors that of early life forms floating in tidal pools. Beginning our life in a liquid womb establishes the instinctual drive to
draw comfort and joy from the simple act of swimming or listening to the soothing sounds of water flowing in a creek.
The fluid nature of all biological life forms from the smallest to the largest is inherent in our need to visually explore fluid
motion. These artworks are examples of our continued fascination with the fluid aspects of the universe. They prompt our
audience to discover their own emotional connections to fluid worlds and the primal experiences associated with water.
Inspiration from other elemental fluid states like gases or molten lava can also be seen in many of our abstract artworks.
