2020 Notes From Artists Dennis Eavenson And Sharon Eavenson On Figurative 2 Works

These works rely on aspects of the human form for opening a dialogue concerning the influence that media contributes to our
social and political pitfalls. As a visual artist, my perceptions of modern man are greatly influenced by images found through
magazines, newspapers, television and films. These artworks present themes from the seventies concerning atomic war,
violence and environmental pollution. They are visual compositions designed to prompt the viewer to consider the negative
influences that media exposure triggers.

Each piece carries strong psychological imprints and reveals my inner feelings and thoughts about the horrific aspects of
dominance behavior which is so deeply rooted in all humanity. The generalized shape of a male head lets the viewer identify
and consider their own feelings such as fear, alienation and anxiety. The simplified forms and hollow eyes or blank faces are
empty and lack emotion to reflect the compassionless side of humanity.
